Yes I still said Happy Independence
Even when my mood seemed doomed
I still felt my heart melt.
I still stood tall like a wood
I still had pride in my mind like a bride that I am Nigerian.

Yes I still believe in being relieve
Even when my hood seemed wound
I still  feel I can fill a gap
I still choose to smile though it doesn’t reach a mile
I still chant ‘Area’ to show am from Niger Area.

Yes I still feel we are back in the map
even if it’s the back of the map.
I still feel still whatever they still steal
I still choose to pledge an Anthem
I still choose to gin a green grin
I still fly the color green.
